Rise Of The Guardians Is Latest Film To Get A Motion Poster

Motion posters are all the rage these days. It’s almost like now that studio marketing departments have figured out how to properly create a motion poster (and to make them easy for Web sites to share), they are happy to put a moving image together. The latest comes to us from DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming Thanksgiving weekend release Rise of the Guardians, which has its own holiday theme driving the plot. More on that in a moment. First, here’s the new motion poster, with snowy elves at play, courtesy of Yahoo Movies:

Peter Ramsey’s animated thriller has a unique band of holiday-themed superheroes at the heart of its story. When the evil Pitch (Jude Law) threatens our planet, the Immortal Guardians have to band together to save the day. The Guardians are made up of holiday heroes, from The Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher) and the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman) to Jack Frost (Chris Pine) and Santa (Alec Baldwin).

So far, the footage we have been privy to for Guardians looks fantastic, from an international trailer to a series of short clips we caught at San Diego Comic-Con. The movie’s also making a few pit stops at major film festivals like AFI in Los Angeles and the Savannah Film Festival, where it will be the closing night film. But audiences will be able to catch the 3D Guardians in theaters on Nov. 21.
