When Diego Boneta nabbed the lead role in the movie adaptation of Rock of Ages, it seemed like the role that could launch the unknown 21-year-old actor to stardom. Now the movie might have done the job before it even hits theaters. Variety reports that Boneta has been cast to play Adam in Paradise Lost, the adaptation of the epic poem directed by The Crow's Alex Proyas.

Though the cast is being led by Bradley Cooper in the singular role of Satan, Boneta won't be the only newcomer onscreen. Benjamin Walker, known mostly for his role in Broadway's Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and soon to play the titular character in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is playing the warring archangel Michael, while Callan McAuliffe, who had roles in Flipped and I Am Number Four, also has a role. More veteran actors like Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou and Dominic Purcell round out the cast. A while back Camilla Belle had been rumored as a top choice to play Eve, but there's no word on her being cast in this latest update.

I still have no idea how Proyas will manage to adapt one of the most complicated stories in modern memory, but he's got the giant cast and big budget lined up to at least take a stab at it. With cast lining up so quickly, we should expect to get at least a few glimpses at production when it starts up soon.
