It looks like Brett Ratner is still talking about doing that Eddie Murphy/Chris Rock heist comedy he told us about back in November of last year. That is if he can find the time. I’m sure making like Rush Hour 3 is a grueling affair, and he’ll need to recharge on bikini models first.
Ratner spoke to our friends over at Moviehole about the still pending project, and told them that he wants to stack the cast with even more big name, black actors. He says that he and Eddie want to get The movie would have them all working as janitors at Trump tower, and they’d pull off a heist. Apparently Ratner has some sort of black Ocean’s 11 delusion going.
The thing is, even though Ratner’s a hack, he’s good at convincing executives and actors he isn’t. Or, they just decide not to notice because they’re having too much fun in the extended pool parties he calls his sets. Word is making a Ratner film is a blast, and I can see at least some of those people jumping on board to for a Ratner movie, particularly if Murphy and Rock are in it. Unfortunately, as long as Ratner is directing it we don’t have to worry much about it being any good.
Keep an eye on MH for their full Ratner interview next week.
