SAG Award Nominations Throw Some Curveballs, Like Javier Bardem For Skyfall

The Screen Actors Guild has become for the first group to honor their peers in the movie industry by announcing their nominees for this year's SAG Awards this morning in West Hollywood. And while the awards from critics seemed to be settling around the same consensus of the best films and performances, SAG has thrown in a few curveballs-- like the Best Ensemble nod for Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, snubbing Joaquin Phoenix for his performance in The Master (but including Philip Seymour Hoffman), and maybe biggest of all, nodding to Nicole Kidman for her performance in The Paperboy.
