It was 2006 when Scary Movie 4 came out, which means not only will seven years have passed between then and the latest sequel, but four Paranormal Activity films have arrived between then and now, giving the upcoming Scary Movie 5 plenty of base material to spoof, not to mention Black Swan and whatever other dark and scary films the horror parody plans to acknowledge. The new trailer for Scary Movie 5 offers more than a few hints of that potential and some goofy moments featuring Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen.

MTV shared the new trailer for Scary Movie 5, which will feature appearances by Sheen and Lohan, in addition to Ashley Tisdale, Heather Locklear, Simon Rex and Erica Ash.

It looks like Scary Movie 5 will be indulging in the found footage horror trend, with plenty of nods to the Paranormal Activity films. And Ashley Tisdale's character appears to be serving as the wide-eyed girl in trouble this time around. In addition to PA, it looks like there are nods to Inception and Black Swan worked into the plot, with a "dream extraction" featured and the bizarre sight of Heather Locklear as a pregnant ballerina. It all circles around to what may be the most unnerving scene glimpsed - Sheen and Lohan cozy in bed together. Of course, they soon have their own problems to deal with as Sheen gets tossed around by an unseen demon while Lohan screams in horror when she discovers her probation has been revoked.

Scary Movie 5 arrives in theaters April 12, 2013. More information can be found in our Blend Film Database.
