Scoop: Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 Details

Some franchises just don’t know when to quit. Whether or not people are getting sick and tired of the whole Pirates of the Caribbean thing, when a franchise makes that much money, it’s hard to let it die. We’ve been hearing rumblings about a possible fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie for months now, but tonight I got an email from the old friend of the site which not only confirmed a fourth movie will almost certainly be happening, but dropped details on where the series may end up going when it continues.

Our source says that Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is no longer just a possibility, it’s almost a certainty. More importantly, Johnny Depp is all but assured to return, though our scooper claims he may end up making as much as $35 - $40 million to do it. Also returning will be Geoffrey Rush and Gore Verbinski as director, but forget about the rest of the cast because from now on the movies will only be about Captain Jack.

That’s right, Pirates 4 will cast aside Will and Elizabeth to make it an all Jack Sparrow movie. That won’t be the only change Disney is planning to make when the series continues though. Our scooper says, “the ending of Pirates 3, the fountain of youth story might not be the only story they might used the next pirate’s film. The fountain story could used in another form to introduce the story for Pirates 4… the next film might be a departure from the same formula of the last three movies as well, meaning that Jerry Bruckheimer could be planning to enter the realm of Science Fiction this time around and it could be the heart of a new trilogy with Jack Sparrow and his crew of misfits. Some of the brainstorming going around involves some Jules Verne type of scenarios involving some pretty big flying machines, a man who wants to rule more than just the ocean, a encounter with the most famous and dangerous pirate of all, a race to get to a lost world (Hint, Hint) and Jack and his crew going to where no pirate has gone before (No, its not space but Disney had made animated movie about this place before with Michel J Fox voicing one of the characters).”

Pirates science fiction? What the heck? The Michael J. Fox movie our source is referring to is almost certainly Atlantis, which would tie in the Jules Verne and science fiction elements mentioned. Apparently we’ll also get more of Jack’s past and his family, which could also mean more Keith Richards. I’d actually be ok with that, Keith was surprisingly good.

Don’t get too attached to the idea of another Pirates of the Caribbean sequel though. Our insider thinks that Disney plans to take a long, long breather between Pirates movies: “word is that the start date could be around 2009 to 2011.” I don’t think we need another Pirates sequel, but if they’re going to do one, giving the franchise time to recharge is probably a very good idea.

As always, consider everything above as nothing but rumor till something more develops. Our source is a proven one, but if we can’t give you our source, then consider anything we tell you as unconfirmed gossip.

We agree that even though Johnny Depp is a Great actor as Captain Jack Sparrow,the fourth movie should include Will and Elizabeth. But we came around to the idea that Elizabeth doesn't need to be in the whole story. If Keira Knightley thinks that the Pirate series are childish, than the writers that create the movie can have her in the beginning of the story but then do away with her and only have Will and their son in the remaining of the story. To add a twist, how about Captain Jack saves Will from the Flying Dutchman and allows Will and his son to come aboard his ship in search of the fountain of youth. For the romantics, Jack and Will get hold of lovers. We need Jack and Will and not Elizabeth!

they HAVE to make another POTC movie becuz im obsessed, especially with Jack sparrow. he's my favorite character and i dont care if will and elizabeth arent in the fourth one. im soooo glad johnny depp said he wanted to play jack again! yayayayay! i cant wait until 2011, but idk if i can wait that long...
but i totally think the movie is going to be great with jack sparrow and barbossa too. they'll make an awesome pair and it'll will be really funny im sure of it!

i think that will and elizabeth should be in the 4 movie. they bring life to the movie. they also make it romantic.between capt. jack,will and other action characters it makes a wonderful and exiting movie. i just cant wait til the next one comes out hoping that will and elizabeth are in it.plus i promise if will or elizabeth are not in it. i htink bad reviews would come in. and that is the end of pirates of the carribean.

OMG! No Will! I'm like the biggest Orlando Bloom fan and if they don't put him in the film, I'm protesting. I suppose Keira Knightley should be in it too, I mean their characters both should be in it... it wouldn't be the same without them.

Captain Jack is awesome but if the movie is only about him, the plot may end up being quite boring and if this is the case... not even worth the trouble of making the movie. Without the other main characters such as Will and Elizabeth, it would suck! Well Johnny Depp wouldn't suck, but the movie would!

Honestly if they think of making a POTC 4 without either William or Elizabeth mainly focusing on Jack then count me out on going to the movies to see this film because honestly i am a hard core orlando bloom fan and the movie without both characters will hurt the film (even though Barbossa will be in it as well.) I think they should bring back Barbossa, Elizabeth, Sparrow & William all four of them again and make it intresting to where they might find a way for Elizabeth to be with will on the ship along with their son then that will be closure for me not the way they sort of "ended it" with the clip at the end of the third potc movie thats not good enough!! I want to see what else will happen to them, such as will they have more children? Will Elizabeth be able to be with Will on the ship? Will they find a way for that to happen? Because honestly I cried when Will got run through by Davey Jones then Sparrow had Will who was unconisous stab his heart and left him there on the Dutchman to become the captain of the ship honestly I want to see what happens between those two more than anything!! I just hope the writers find some insight to include those two in the movie if not this one then perhaps the fifth or the sixth movie of POTC.

I absolutly LOVE POTC ever since the first one came out i could watch it over and over again nd not get tired of it at all! I just got done watching the Third one (again) lol and everytime i watch it I feel incomplete. Idk y i think its b cus partly i want to learn so much more about Jack, but at the same time i want so bad for this thing between Elizabeth and will to work out. I mean you can't just place them into our lives and cut them right out. I know A LOTT of POTC fans are just waiting on the edge's of their seats to know what happened to Elizabeth and will, i know i am. I mean Elizabeth is now the King of the fourth Brotherin! she has to be in the 4th and so does will! If will and Elizabeth get taken out i will be so sad and so will a lot of others.

I agree that a POTC movie without Will and Elizabeth would be pointless.

Also PLEASE bring back Norrington, such a noble complex character.

But I also agree that (regarding a 4th installment) is that there IS a such thing as too much of a good thing.

They should just leave the trilogy as it is. I can see cutting Keira Knightley out, but not Orlando Bloom as well. He has to be a pirate seeing as he will always be captain of the Flying Dutchman, so there's no reason to cut him out. It won't be the same without Keira and Orlando. You can count on me NOT being there.

Kirsten, if you would have watched until the end of the credits you would have seen an extra scene which was put in. It shows Elizbaeth ten years later, standing on a cliff and looking out at the sea with their ten year old son with her. There's a green flash of light and both Elizabeth and her son smile as the camera shows you the sea. There Will is on the sails smiling up at them as the Dutchman heads towards land. And that is the last thing you see before the movie completley ends.

johnny depp is the one who makes captain jack sparrow the pirates of the caribbean sequels wouldn't have been such a hit without him. although i will miss will and elizabeth the sequels will be fine without them. we know that there already in love with eachother and have a baby what more else is there to say?

ever girl loves orlando not have in the movie whould be like not having food or water you have to have them things and you just have to have orlando in this movie. and not having kiara is like not having a home and what happen to there kid? jack can't be in the movie 24/7 so i hope you understand that you can't have it all about jack and don't you know that he is a pirates so it is all ready about him so don't make the four one be all about jack let it be about will and elizabeth for a changs!!!!!

omg they can NOT have a PotC 4 w/o Will and Elizabeth. It's just wrong. Jack Sparrow is a good character but it kinda sounds like a conceited movie if there's no will and Elizabeth. He gets so much attention in the movies already and he needs the other characters. I mean come on. there aren't going to be alot of viewers if W&E are not in it. Also, try not to make it as confusing as the third. I mean the third war gr8 but it was hard to follow.

I really hope they make a second one because I love Pirates Of the Caribbean & I love Johnny Depp, but I want Orlando Bloom and Kiara Knightly to be in it too! It just wouldn't be the same without htem even though Johnny Depp is an amazing actor!!

I love Pirates of the Caribbean and Johnny Depp, and I really don't have a problem with having a movie about Captain Jack Sparrow beacause he's supa fine! But the movie would be really good if it had Will & Elizabeth in it! If they're not in it than the the movie just won't be the same, the movie would be good but would be better with the originals!!* Even if Elizabeth and Will don't come back the fourth one will still be awesome because Johnny Depp is an amazing actor!!

Ps.,,,, Elizabeth had her 9/10 year old son standing on the cliff with her.

Also Jack, had the map to the Fountain of Youth, and Barbosa had the Black Pearl... So the 4th Movie, just cant be made without the 4 of them in it... even if its justs a small part at the beginning for Elizabeth...

And 2011.... Absolutely NOT Make us Wait that Long for the Answers.
Why wait, the interest in the film is still High, the interest in All the Characters is still --- well, of Interest to us the Audience. I am all for and ready for POC #4.... BRING IT ON~

2009 is TORCHER ENOUGH....

Ok, and just to enlighten most of you, Keira Knightley does not want to be in the 4th movie, alot of sources say the same thing, she has been in the series since her teen years and wants to move on with more projects and without Elizabeth then what use is Will? Keira Knightley has moved on and Orlando Bloom was probably forced out of the picture so no matter what, their romance probably isn't going to be back anytime soon which is great because more Jack is better IMO

Jack Sparrow was the best part of the Pirates franchise and a movie just for him is a fantastic idea. I was so tired of the Will/Elizabeth story after the credits rolled for part 3 - it was cute in the first movie but drawn out and boring in the last two. Bring on a solo Cap'n Jack!

I think Will and Elizabeth gone is excellent! Don't you understand at all? Will and Elizabeth was just a romance getting intertwined in an excellent pirate plot. Some say they wouldn't miss Jack Sparrow, Oh ok, Excuse I thought this was the Pirates of the Carribean series, not the Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley fall in love with a little bit of Pirate in it. Jack Sparrow is what made that movie, you may have thought he was corny but he was one of the contributing factors that made the first movie such a great success, cutting Jack out of the picture would DESTROY the series, Why would you want to throw out the shining star pirate in the movie and keep the corny romance? THAT DOESN'T MAKE A GOOD PIRATE MOVIE DOES IT!? My advice - Keep Jack Sparrow, cut out the ooey gooey love bird of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly, sure they were both great in the movie, but I think focusing more on Piracy in a Pirate movie is much more sensible. More Jack, Less Will-izabeth, More Hoisting the Colors, More rum, More Pirates!! You can't go wrong!
