ShoWest: New Batman Movie Likely To Be Three Years OffBy Rafe Telsch: 2009-04-02 21:41:28
The cast of The Dark Knight have already been willing to talk about a sequel, even though it’s pretty likely not much has been plotted out yet. At one point you even had cast members talking about the characters planned for the third chapter in the new Batman story, going so far as to talk about actors being approached, even though Christopher Nolan admitted no work had been made in that direction yet.
The lack of real information hasn’t kept the cast from talking, but keep in mind that it may just be talk. That disclaimer aside, Katey Rich got the chance to talk to one of my favorite Dark Knight actors, Michael Caine, who admitted the third chapter may not be as close as we hoped. Caine blames the delay on Inception, Christopher Nolan’s next planned movie. Nolan kind of did the same thing after Batman Begins. Everyone was crazy for an immediate follow up, and he went and made The Prestige. Now he’s taking time away from Batman to make Inception, which will likely put a third picture as far away as three years, according to Caine.
