Brian Singer is doing it again. Warner Brothers is ready and waiting for him to direct the next Superman movie, a sequel to Superman Returns called Man of Steel. They want it in theaters for summer 2009. Singer on the other hand, is doing everything but making a new Superman movie.
Before making his next Superman movie we already knew that Singer would do one different movie. He’s directing a film called Valkyrie first, and then he was supposed to jump on Man of Steel shortly afterwards. Now though, Rottentomatoes reports that he’s dodging Superman to make Mayor of Castro, a movie about gay rights activist Harvey Milk.
Originally, most had believed Mayor of Castro would come after Superman, but as he did to Fox with X-Men 3 it looks like Singer is jerking the execs over at the WB around. How long before they give up on him and bring in Brett Ratner to ruin the franchise? Warner Brothers’ patience can’t be infinite. If they’re going to make another Superman movie, it needs to happen some time this decade. You know, before Brandon Routh starts going grey.

Are you all retarted? Superman Returns was fantastic and could not be any better. Routh looks and sounds so much like Christopher Reeves he could be his son. He is the spitting image of the guy. The whole script was amazing. I have watched it at least 50 times and cant get enuff. I can't wait for the next one. I think you guys need glasses if you did not think it was amazing!
look at it this way. he came back in style. who could of asked for a better than routh. and there is also a legacy to continue. the son of superman will have his say. trust me folks let the next one come. remember that although the planet was destroyed he is not alone. and every family has a black sheep.
Brain singer should be fired from the superman franchise.
To let him make a second movie is insult to the character of superman and and true fan of the character.
How many complained when they seen ruth in the suit.
Ruth just wants more money I hope they dont put him in the justice league movie and ruin that as well.
I walked out on this movie in a free movie house.
stolen lines as well as plots just to name a few.
I would rather wait for a good script and director then have this jerk try again to kill the franchise.
Those who believe in Truth, Justice and Freedom (someday) are glad that HE IS BACK
A supermovie is actually pretty tough to make - after all, both Bats and Spidey look up to You Know Who
All thanks then to Singer, Routh & Co for their effort; the trailers/teasers for Returns were so fantastic - almost all the ingredients were there; everybody can surely raise their sights and do Kal El proud next time
The Mayor of Castro Street is also a WB film, I dont think Singer is jerking anyone around, although I think the studio may be looking for an excuse to boot him off the Superman franchise and not have it look like they did.
Honestly I think Singer is over rated, X Men was mediocre, Part 2 was only watchable despite numerous plot holes and Superman was too much Fan service to the old superman and did nothing to update like batman begins.
