Stan Lee Confirms His Avengers Cameo, Wants To Be In Batman v Superman
Some things are unavoidable. Death. Taxes. And a Stan Lee cameo in every Marvel Studios movie. Because James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy largely is set in outer space, it was believed Stan Lee might not make the cut. This this happened. Joss Whedon’s hammering away at his second Avengers movie. Guess who is making his way to the set for his screen time?
Stan Lee was speaking at the London Film and Comic-Con convention (via Digital Spy) about the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is about to include Ant-Man and, maybe, Doctor Strange. And because he is in London for the conference, he of course mentions that you can look for him in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Stan Lee said:
If you want to hear Stan Lee’s comments in context, press play:
What you realize, in the clip, is that Stan Lee is fading. How could he not? He’s 91 years old, and international travel to sets in London, Atlanta, Los Angeles and beyond are bound, eventually, to make these legendary Stan Lee cameos impossible… perhaps in the next few years. So it’s best that we savor the cameos that we are going to get, in Guardians of the Galaxy and in next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
And if Stan Lee has his way, we might also see him in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016! Playfully joking about the rivalry between the comic book powerhouses, Lee said from the stage of the convention, "DC could probably make a lot more money with Superman and Batman if they announced that I'd have a cameo in it! People wouldn't believe it - they'd have to go to the theatre to see it!"
I’m pretty sure they’re going, anyway, Stan "The Man," but your marketing efforts are appreciated.
