Trailer For Adam Sandler's The Shortcut Back in 2008 we told you about Adam Sandler’s latest venture, a new division of his Happy Madison production company devoted entirely to making horror movies. They’ve dubbed it Scary Madison and their first movie is something called The Shortcut.

Sandler isn’t in it, he’s only a producer, which likely just means he gets paid if anyone shows up to see it. But will anyone show up to see it? The first every trailer for The Shortcut has popped up online along with some images over at the website of Mindseye Pictures. Even for a horror movie, it looks fairly generic, though it does involve scenes of an old man chasing kids with a shovel. Seems ridiculous? Not to me, I’ve ducked a few shovel swings from a crazy old lunatic. Old men who live alone out in the country tend to be a little bit looney and back where I grew up, there’s no shortage of shovel-weilding grandpas.

Here’s what The Shortcut’s about: “A shortcut through the woods saved a lot of time getting to school, but no kids growing up in a suburban neighborhood dared to take it. The trail ran within sight of a scary house with an eerie old man who would accost its travelers with an ominous message to stay away. Town legend said he was involved in the disappearances of some kids long ago. Now that some of those same kids are in their late teens, they decide to find out the truth about the old man after they learn he’s still at his game.”
