I kind of wondered what happened to Son of Rambow, one of the big purchases from Sundance - last year’s Sundance, that is. After all the acclaim that followed the picture (said to be that year’s Little Miss Sunshine of sorts), the picture never hit theaters.
It appears the movie hasn’t disappeared completely, after all. It’s just taking its time getting to theaters. AOL’s Moviefone has the exclusive first trailer for the movie, which tells the story of a child who isn’t allowed to watch TV or movies, and suddenly finds himself in possession of a pirated copy of Rambo: First Blood thanks to a friend. The result is a kid whose entire world has been shaken and changed forever as he and his friend decide to make their own Rambo-type picture. If anything, the trailer just makes me more excited to hear the movie may finally be seeing release. I’ve been waiting for it since last year’s Sundance so the idea that it’ll finally be released in the next few months is really exciting. Click to view the Son of Rambow trailer in HD QuickTime.
