Stuff Your Own Stocking With (500) Days Of Summer On Blu-Ray Or DVD

Since when do relationships actually work out like they do in the movies? The obvious answer: never. See a different perspective on the budding romance when the ultimate love story that’s not a love story, (500) Days of Summer, hits DVD and Blu-ray December 22nd.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Tom, a greeting-card author who dreams of being an architect. It may not be his dream job, but the day Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel) walks into the office, his hopes for the future don’t even matter; he’s in love. The problem is, Summer doesn’t exactly love him back.

That synopsis should suffice to give you a good idea of what the film is about, but seeing the story unfold on screen is an entirely different experience. My description is linear, but the film is certainly not. (500) Days of Summer covers Tom’s 500 days with Summer in a non-sequential fashion.

For $29.98 you get this charming and quirky comedy, as well as feature commentary with director Marc Webb, writer Michael Weber, co-writer Scott Neustadter, and Gordon-Levitt; as well as “Lost Days of Summer,” deleted and extended scenes with optional commentary with the aforementioned participants. It’s a steep price jump, but opting to spend the $39.99 on the BD will be worth it. The movie is fantastic, and you’re going to want the additional bonus material. The BD comes with both extras from the DVD version as well as…
