Wonder Woman Has A New Close-Up Picture And I'm All-In On These Cuffs
This just in. Wonder Woman is a complete a total badass. Hopefully this isn’t news to you, but on the off chance it is, let us submit this new image of the Amazon warrior. We’re a week away from her feature film debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and if there’s one person more excited than we are for it, it’s the woman behind the warrior, actress Gal Gadot.
The actress, who will bring Princess Diana to the screen posted the image to her Facebook page in anticipation of Wonder Woman’s coming out party, and we love it. While the woman in the background looks ready to beat the hell out of you, the focus is on the bracelets. One of the more famous parts of Wonder Woman’s costume, the bracelets are known for their ability to deflect projectile weaponry, including bullets. These look like they’re capable of doing much more than. Were these things on fire a moment before this image?
We haven’t seen anything of Wonder Woman using the bracelets in the trailers yet, mostly because she comes actually armed with a shield in the clips that we’ve seen. Still, we would fully expect that the bracelets will see some action in the film, if only to make those not intimately familiar with the character aware that they exist. Exactly when they might be used is unclear. We know that the trio of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman will be going up against Doomsday, and our understanding is that there will be an even bigger threat before it’s all said and done, but we don’t really know what that is.
Of course, they’ll be plenty more Wonder Woman where this came from. Gal Gadot is currently filming her standalone film which will feed into Justice League: Part One next year. We fully expect that she’ll be making use of her bracelets in order to block numerous German bullets during World War I, when much of the film will be taking place.
How excited are you to see Wonder Woman take her bow next Friday? Are you more excited to see her, or the new Batman for the first time? Let us know in the comments below.
