Wonder Woman Is A Blonde

By Josh Tyler: 2007-10-26 13:02:00
Wonder Woman Is A Blonde I’m flat out sick of reporting on Justice League of America casting rumors. The movie sounds like it’s going to be a second tier, replacement actors, teen superheroes flick and it’s being directed by a guy who thinks it’s such an important project… that he’s shooting two other movies simultaneously with it. There’s no way JLA is going to be any good, and we’re all wasting our time by paying attention to it.

Still, I guess it’s my job to report this stuff, no matter how much it beats me down. So I’m just going to spit this latest casting rumor out and be done with it. An actress named Teresa Palmer may have been cast as Wonder Woman in JLA, according to Moviehole. They seem pretty certain about it, so maybe this is it and we can stop reporting on at least this role. Thank god.

Teresa played the blonde girl Vanessa in The Grudge 2. She’s mostly done bit parts in movie’s you’ve seen, or bigger parts in movie’s you haven’t. She’s 21 years old and 5’5” which makes her too young and too short to play Wonder Woman… if Warner Brothers was making a movie that was at all faithful to the characters rather than a film designed to sell discount boxes of cereal. Sadly, it’s the latter that’s going on here and not the former.

How will casting her, as you say,"a movie that was at all faithful to the characters rather than a film designed to sell discount boxes of cereal"?

Noone even knows who she is.

Having said that, From what I have seen, if she is the girl in "December Boys," SHe is a very good strong actress, and facial feature wise, she looks to me like what wonder woman would (if she dyes her hair or wears a wig.) She even looks like my WW action figure from 25 years ago.

So if anything, it seems they are casting based on who they think suits the role (if they do indeed cast her), rather than picking popular names and faces.

Whats sick is in a few years well all wonder how the studios managed to kill the Superhero Movie genre so quickly, because instead of respecting the source material and having the films made by directors who appreciate them, we get rushed crap made by people who dont care and who want only to turn a quick buck no matter what.
For every Spiderman (Raimi) and Iron Man (Favreau) we are going to get an XMen 3 (Ratner) or JLA... too bad to, theres over 50 years of great material there ripe for adaptation by someone who cares.
And heres the proof, casting a waifish, 5'5" 20something blonde as the brunette, Amazonian embodiment off all that is feminine power, Wonder Woman.
Kill me, kill me now, please God kill me know.

thay should just make it CGI and be done with it and not scrw more fans

  1. Dindi Says:

what i love about this thread is that Wonder Woman is considered by someone to be the "embodiment of all that is feminine power".

  1. Kris Says:

Well, Dindi, I said that with the utmost respsct for her character, I completely acknowledge that there are parts of Wonder Womans characterization that is the sole result of sexism, like her barely there costume, but Wonder Woman is also the Princess of the Amazons, a society of powerful, self-sufficient female warriors. She is nealry as strong as Superman, she can take care of herself and she doesnt play second fiddle to the men in her life. I dont think my comment was at all off...
