After a little wait and a lot of confusion concerning when exactly the trailer would be online (courtesy of the official site's completely screwed up countdown clock), the new trailer for X-Files: I Want To Believe is at last here. The trailer showed up on IGN a little after 2am PST. Watch it below, and believe!
In addition, they have started their viral marketing campaign. Nothing more important these days than a movie’s viral marketing. So here’s two viral videos released over the weekend, featuring Mulder and Scully being all viral.

Actually, it premiered at 12:01 pacific time. I can verify this because I watched it at approx. 1:05 mountain time, which is an hour ahead of pacific time. The reason the clock was scewed up on the website was because it set the countdown to the individual computer's clock, meaning it counted down to midnight in the timezone the computer was in. So my countdown hit midnight an hour ahead of the scheduled release.
The trailers awesome. It's nice to see that Fox has enough confidence in the film and the fanbase to release a trailer that doesn't give everything away. I'm 100% sure this film will be great the fans will show up, but can it draw non-xfiles fans? If it can we should see many more X-file cases.
I live in Europe and the counter here was counting down to midnight Central European Time, yet when the clock struck midnight the counter was stuck at zeros and that has been the case for the last 8 hours. This is so lame. If they want to use a countdown clock can't they get the timezones right?
The announcement I got directly from them made no mention of any time zone at all, and the countdown timer, as you can see, is now at zero in EST and CST time zones.
However, as I said above, in all likelihood it will indeed appear at midnight PST, and they probably just screwed up on the countdown clock. We'll know soon! I'll update the page if it shows up at 12:01am PST.
