Could The First Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Trailer Be Attached to Doctor Strange?
Where the hell have the Guardians of the Galaxy been anyway? While we watched in awe as Earth's mightiest heroes duked it out during the events of Captain America: Civil War, we had no idea what Star-Lord, Gamora and the rest were up to. James Gunn's sequel has remained firmly under wraps for quite some time, but it now seems that the veil could potentially be lifted very soon. Based upon new reports, it seems entirely possible that we could see the first official teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 could be attached to the upcoming release of Doctor Strange on November 4.
A new report from Trailer Track confirms that the first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has officially been classified. Based upon the timing of the announcement, as well as the current slate of Marvel's Phase 3 films, it seems increasingly likely that the teaser could possibly accompany the release of Doctor Strange. This would absolutely make plenty of sense; Marvel Studios has mastered the art of film promotion, and packaging an upcoming property with a new release is pretty much Sales 101.
That being said, we have no guarantee of this, and there remains a possibility that Marvel will hold back on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer for a few weeks after the release of Doctor Strange. Considering the fact that Disney also has Rogue One: A Star Wars Story coming in December, we could also see the Guardians trailer debut during the holiday season. However, at this moment we're still banking on the trailer dropping with Strange.
No matter what, the information that we receive from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 teaser will be sparse to say the least. With a run time of 1 minute and 29 seconds, the preview will be a teaser in the most literal sense. Expect at least one classic song from Awesome Mix Vol. 2 to score the whole thing.
To say that we're excited for the Guardians of the Galaxy teaser would be nothing short of a massive understatement. The first film took the entire world by storm when it landed in 2014, but unlike other avenues of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we haven't checked in with these characters for quite some time. So many new elements will be introduced to the upcoming cosmic adventure -- from Baby Groot, to Kurt Russell's Ego the Living Planet -- that we're simply dying to get even the briefest glimpse of James Gunn's highly anticipated sequel.
CinemaBlend will keep you posted regarding any and all relevant details pertaining to all of Marvel's Phase 3 projects as more information becomes available. We will know for sure if the Guardians teaser is attached to Doctor Strange when the Sorcerer Supreme's solo movie hits theaters on November 4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will debut on May 5, 2017. Stay tune for more details!
