Over the last couple of weeks, Josh Gad has been posting videos of himself trying to get Daisy Ridley to spill everything she knows about the new Star Wars trilogy. It hasn't worked, so this week he brought in some big league help to do the interrogation. Gad enlisted Dame Judi Dench to do his dirty work for him, because let's face it, would you keep a secret from that woman?
This story started a couple of weeks back, just after the title of Star Wars: The Last Jedi was officially announced. Josh Gad, who is currently filming Murder on the Orient Express alongside Daisy Ridley, posted a video of him asking her what the title meant, as well as several other related questions. Ridley held up and gave nothing away. About a week later Gad posted a second video where he apologized for the interrogation, while still trying to get answers.
It appears that this week Josh Gad realized that he's got some potential help he can go to. You see, these two aren't the only big names that are currently filming Murder on the Orient Express. The film has an all-star cast and Dame Jude Dench is one of them. It's no wonder that by the end of the line of question Ridley, hilariously, breaks down and agrees to talk. I would tell that woman whatever she wants to know if she was giving me that look.
Of course, what's truly funny hear is listening to Judi Dench ask these questions. One has to wonder just how up to speed she actually is on Star Wars. When she asks "Is Snoke Palpatine" we're curious if the actress actually knows what all those words even mean. To anybody on the outside of the Star Wars universe, that sentence is utter gibberish. She also brings up midichlorians, which may be even funnier. We're pretty sure that Dench is using a Jedi mind trick on poor Daisy Ridley here, though we also can't help but notice that for a brief moment at the very end it looks like poor Daisy is going to lose it and start cracking up.
Three weeks in and this joke is still funny. Our only fear is that if Josh Gad now "knows" the answers to all of his questions thanks to Dame Judi Dench's intervention, that we won't be seeing any more of these videos. We'd be totally ok with doing this once a week for the next 10 months. We'll let you know if we get bored.
We're looking forward to the sequel video where Kristen Bell tries to get Josh Gad to tell her what Daisy Ridley said about Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It's important because we also need to know what the deal is with "Reylo."
