Thor: Ragnarok's New Poster Unites Thor And Loki

Today's a good day to be a Marvel fan. The Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con is later tonight and there's bound to be plenty of news on Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, and maybe even something from Ant-Man and the Wasp. Ahead of the panel, there's a new Thor: Ragnarok poster circulating the show floor for those lucky few in attendance to grab. The highly anticipated blockbuster has been hyped pretty well so far, so check out this great poster of Thor and his brother Loki facing down Hela.

Those who visit the Marvel Booth at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend will have the chance to find the above poster there waiting for them. Andy Park, the Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor and Concept Artist (AKA one of the coolest jobs in the world), painted the poster and shared it on Twitter for everyone who wasn't able to make it to the convention. The poster features Thor and his brother Loki staring up at a swagged out Hela looking mighty powerful. It's notable that the Hulk is nowhere to be found and that it's Loki who shares the spotlight with Thor.

Also notably missing is Thor's hammer Mjolnir, as Thor stands empty-handed in the poster. Those who've seen the trailer know that Hela will destroy Mjolnir in an early encounter with Thor, leaving him significantly downgraded. We've seen Thor use two swords in all the promotional materials for Thor: Ragnarok but it looks like they didn't quite make the cut for this particular poster.

All in all, it's another excellent piece of work from the art team over at Marvel Studios. I love how much Hela towers over Thor and Loki, and how she's surrounded by a shroud of shadows. Hela has already proven that she's a powerful threat from just one trailer alone, and fans likely can't wait to see more from the movie.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth as the Mighty Thor. The story follows Thor as Asgard is under siege from Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death, who seeks to wipe it from the face of the cosmos. Hela banishes Thor to the planet Sakaar, where he is forced to perform in gladiatorial death matches against none other than his "friend from work," the Incredible Hulk. The cast is rounded out by Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeff Goldblum.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to release in theaters on November 3, 2017. To learn more about the film, make sure to check out what we know so far. For more updates on Ragnarok, make sure to keep up with CinemaBlend and we'll keep you posted as soon as that information becomes available.
