How Zachary Levi Celebrated Wrapping DC's Shazam!

Later this year after Aquaman arrives in theaters, Shazam! is next up to bat for DC and Warner Bros. The film, which stars Zachary Levi, follows the teenaged Billy Batson, who acquires the power to transform into an adult superhero named Shazam. The movie has been filming for the past several months, but has officially wrapped production. Levi, who suited up as the title superhero, took the time to celebrate the completion of filming by switching back to his natural hair color and praising the Dodgers.

Filming a superhero movie can be pretty stressful, requiring actors to hit the gym and go on crazy diets. In some cases, it also requires them to change their hair color when a wig just won't do the job. Zachary Levi had to dye his hair pitch black to match the comic book looks of the superhero Shazam, but now that the movie is over, it looks like it's safe for him to return to his all-natural brown.

Levi shared the moment straight from the salon via his Instagram, happy to be returning to his normal hair color. He's also taking the time to give a shout to the Dodgers, which I guess is a team that Levi really likes.

With filming done for the moment (never count out those blockbuster reshoots), we can probably expect to see some promotions for Shazam! soon enough. DC has made the odd choice not to release any official stills of the costume, despite the fact that set leaks have caused some people to criticize the suit. Poorly lit and framed set photos hardly ever make something look good, so hopefully, a much better look at the costume is coming soon. We don't know when to expect any footage to be released, but San Diego Comic-Con isn't that far from now.

Outside of the cast, we don't know too much about the plot of Shazam! We know that the hero will be going up against Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong) and that he'll be with a foster family -- who themselves may get their own superheroic transformations. Other than that, the specifics of the origins story are still largely a mystery. The film is directed by David F. Sandberg with a script written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.

Shazam! is currently scheduled to hit theaters on April 5, 2019. To learn more about the superhero movie, here's everything we know so far. Shazam! is still a ways off, so distract yourself from the wait with any of the big must-see movies coming out this summer.
