First Look At Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Millennium Falcon At Disney World

In addition to getting to make a ton of movies and TV series, Disney owning the rights to Star Wars means they can make their own Star Wars theme parks. The Mouse House has been hard at work for the last few years developing Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which aims to make heads explode because of how awesome it'll be. Case in point: Check out the first look at the life-sized and highly-detailed Millennium Falcon!

Star Wars and Disney fans have been eagerly awaiting the official opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which aims to be one of Disney's most immersive attractions ever. Fans can feel like they were actually teleported to a galaxy far, far away, by walking around iconic locations, interacting with familiar characters, and listening iconic music from across the franchise. Visitors can also check two key attractions, one of which is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Details about the attraction were recently revealed, and visitors will be able to sit in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon and pilot the iconic spacecraft. Up to four visitors man the "real" spacecraft, each one helming different stations, flipping switches and pressing buttons. Just like in the movies! Smugglers Run is sure to be one of the key attractions of Galaxy Edge, and if you don't believe how immersive it will be, just check out that behind-the-scenes photo.

Walt Disney World was kind enough to share the first look at its Millennium Falcon on its Facebook page. According to the post, it's one of two attractions that fans will be able to enjoy at the park. The ride will first be available during the opening of Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in summer 2019 before hitting Walt Disney World in fall 2019.

It's definitely a solid first look at the ride and what Galaxy's Edge will look like. The Millennium Falcon looks great, and I'd wager that the line to ride it will stretch across the galaxy itself. If you'd like a closer look at what to expect, check out this video of Smuggler's Run.

You'll have to wait until next year to see Galaxy's Edge for yourself and there won't be any Star Wars movies to help get you through the wait. Star Wars: Episode IX doesn't arrive in theaters until December 20, 2019, so it looks like we'll all just have to wait to get our Star Wars fix.
