Ol Dirty Bastard And Eazy-E Will Rock The Bells In Hologram Form

Over a year ago, a Coachella festival stunt became a household phenomenon when festivalgoers were treated to a hologram that looked exactly like deceased rap star Tupac Shakur. Since then hologram possibilities from Jimi Hendrix to Elvis Presley have been expounded upon. While some famous names have been discussed, some new holograms are actually being put into reality for another music festival, and the rappers who will perform will be a bit more unexpected. Eazy-E and Ol’ Dirty Bastard will Rock the Bells during this fall’s festivals.

Rock the Bells is a traveling hip-hop festival featuring alternative musical names and faces in the genre, which explains why two rappers would be chosen to be turned into holograms for the show. This year, groups and artists including Jurassic 5, Wu-Tang Clan, Kid Cudi, Talib Kweli, Common, Hit-Boy and many, many more are expected to appear on the Rock the Bells stage in September and October. According to AllhipHop, the two holograms may not have made the official lineup (although the lineup is noting the holograms as "special guests") for the festival, but they will be appearing, nonetheless.

It’s a good year for something as special as two holograms. Rock the Bells is turning 10, and while live performers are actually cooler than some sort-of 3 dimensional figures, the hologram idea is still new enough that it should feel like something special. While a few Rock the Bells goers may have been present at last year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival, most of them will have not seen a hologram of a dead legend before. Rock the Bells tour dates include both West Coast and East Coast locations, which you can check out via the festival’s site.
