A high-definition stop-motion animated feature, the first to be originally filmed in 3D, based on Neil Gaiman's international best selling book. A young girl (Dakota Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life- only much better. But when this wonderously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit parents (including other mother Terri Hatcher) try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to get back home-and save her family.

Wasn't that the basic plot to "Alice Through The Looking Glass"? I'm reminded here that Dakota Fanning was dropped from a proposed "Alice In Wonderland" project from DreamWorks which would have had her doing this in live action. Well... at least this! Actually, I've heard that the plot becomes pretty darksome, which would only be in keeping with all her recent films. BTW: Just how long has this thing been in the can? Quite a while, I believe.
