Get Your Own Marty McFly Nike's

If you have between $600 and $2,000 you too could have some Marty McFly kicks. Sort of. Nike recently released 250 pairs of shoes “inspired by” those worn by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future II. What that means is these are done in the same style, but they just aren’t the same thing. You see, they don’t lace themselves up. For two grand my shoes sure as hell had better tie themselves, and possibly take out the garbage on Thursday nights.
Of course if you were one of the lucky few around when Kobe Bryant helped sell the shoes in Santa Monica you didn’t pay quite that exorbitant a price. With limited quantities they sold fast, and now poor (or too rich for their own good) geeks around the world are being suckered into buying these shoes. Oh yes, I wants them and bad. Although the “2015” logo on the tongue is a bit cheesy. They may not be the actual shoes from the movie, but it’s a step. Mattel and Nike still have a few years to get a hoverboard and self-lacing shoes out to the market. And now that I start thinking about it, perhaps a hoverboard isn’t all that great of an item. I imagine a lot of falling and hurt kids the day it releases. If only those future children had access to shoes that were super awesome, then my grim soothsaying would become void. That was me driving Kobe to the event in the time machine. I’m not even a huge basketball fan and he was super cool. An absolute gentleman.
Great event, great sneaker, great guy!
I only wish they would’ve let me friggin buy a pair. They’re not kidding about “limited release!”
If anyone knows how to get some... Size 11 please! :)
