Activision has decided that since their upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour is looking supremely amazing they need something to make it compete with Rock Band 2. That super premium ION drum set for Rock Band 2 does look great. Add in that it works as an actual drum machine and you have a winner for those with deep enough pockets. Not to be completely outdone Activision has partnered with Logitech to create “premium” instruments for their upcoming game.
Logitech is a well established peripheral maker, and they do have the best racing wheel you can currently buy. I’m not sure what Activision means by a “premium” instrument, but I doubt it’ll quite compare with the ION drum set. Then again we have no information on this other than the announcement. When it comes time to reveal all of the instruments Activision and Logitech may very well trump Rock Band again.
