Mitsubishi And The New Television Line - Here Comes LaserVue Your first – or next at this point since they’ve been around long enough – HDTV purchase is different than just buying a television to watch your stories on. Nowadays you have to be aware of a hodgepodge of terminology, and there’s always the thinner is better attitude with sets. Later this year Mitsubishi is introducing some new DLP and LCD HDTVs that are thinner and brighter than ever.

Mitsubishi’s DLP HDTV will feature sizes from 60” to 73”, with thinner frames and 3D-ready capability. You’ll be able to enjoy 3D right in your home with these new TVs, and the Diamond line will have 120Hz capability for a smooth display. All of this comes at a premium price with the 1080p DLP HDTVs ranging in price from $1,799 to $4,699.

Mitsubishi’s new Ultra Thin Frame 1080p LCD HDTVs will range in size from 40” to 52.” The frame width itself has been reduced by more than 10 percent, putting the new LCDs under one-inch in width. The LCDs are also 120Hz capable, and you guessed it…premium priced: $2,499 to $4,499. Mitsubishi’s laser television – which premiered at the 2008 CES – will be making its way to homes later this year. Dubbed LaserVue, the new TVs will offer a complex color palette and superb clarity and depth of field.

The DLPs are available now, while the Ultra Thin LCDs are rolling out this month. The LaserVue model will see a 3rd Quarter 2008 release.
