Phoenix Lander Has Found Water On Mars

By Steve West: 2008-07-31 22:18:12
Phoenix Lander Has Found Water On Mars Quaid!!!!! Remember the Phoenix Lander? Up there on Mars looking around for ice and some signs of the red planet being habitable? NASA has announced that for the first time ever they have successfully collected a Martian ice sample. The Phoenix Lander immediately ate the ice and deemed it refreshing but a bit too full of minerals. Or maybe the scientific results haven’t come back yet.

It’s amazing that we’re out in space again doing some wonderful exploratory stuff. We’ve long been dormant in our excitement for space. Perhaps the kids of the world aren’t transfixed by men walking on the moon with this news, but I’m just glad that the billions NASA spends is finally providing results that have nothing to do with going number two in space.

To go along with this find, which NASA has dubbed “Wicked Witch” because it is melting, a Martian panorama shot has been released. You can see the full image at NASA’s website here. A smaller version is to the right of this story.
