Nothing can deflate the excitement of putting together a new home theater system – which I’m now in the process of doing – than getting a look at the most mega awesome home theater ever created. It’s so impressive that we don’t even know how much it costs (more than $250,000), but as they say…if you have to ask, you can’t afford it. From hidden entrances to the theater to plush leather seats and a CinemaScope screen there’s pretty much nothing the theater lacks. Perhaps a snack vendor, but I’m sure that can be arranged as well.
Electronic House has been on the lookout for their Home of the Year, and they’ve found some great ones. The Houston home pictured above features a Runco 3-chip 1080p DLP projector with an anamorphic lens. This way the owner can watch films in the original 2:35:1 aspect ratio, which is like jumping from 4:3 to 16:9. The audio system is no less impressive, with Aerial speakers and subwoofers hidden behind the microperforated screen, and six Triad speakers mounted in the side columns. Hell, there’s even a game port in one of the columns. This is the only way to experience Grand Theft Auto IV.
You can get a full rundown of the installation of the room, and all the features, over at Electronic House.
