Video Game Inspired Cutting Boards

By Steve West: 2008-04-30 08:04:15

Video Game Inspired Cutting Boards As a chef and video game junky I can doubly appreciate a cutting board with the Triforce embedded within. Especially if the artist is making the boards in the butcher block style, which is great for knife speed. Then there’s the issue of Zelda possibly being my favorite overall franchise to add even more lust to my heart.

Going by the disappointingly trite moniker “l337motif,” the guy who creates these pieces is selling them on his Etsy site for $125 each. Or he was until he sold out. Hopefully there will be more forthcoming, but without a mass manufacturing plan it may be a long time coming. 1337motif also uses the endgrain style, which is really used to get the pixel effect, but also means you get the quality of an endgrain butcher block cutting board. It’s durable enough to withstand a sharp beating, especially if you use a good wood like walnut or maple, and still just soft enough to not damage your blade.

If you’re interested in keeping an eye on motif’s potential future projects, go on over and visit his Etsy site.
