3 Big Moments Legends Of Tomorrow Is Bringing To Its Midseason Finale
Warning: possible SPOILERS ahead, don't read any further if you are not caught up on Legends of Tomorrow.
Despite the fact that Legends of Tomorrow admittedly got off to a rocky start earlier this year, its second season has continuously shown the show's definitely found its footing. As Season 2 has progressed, Legends has increasingly become one of the most fascinating series in the Arrow-verse and beyond by embracing its inherent weirdness. With the upcoming midseason finale set to air this week, it already looks like the show has no intention of slowing down either. Here are the three biggest moments that fans should expect to see in the upcoming episode.
The Returns Of Malcolm Merlyn And Captain Cold
The Legion of Doom has been slowly but surely coming together since the events of the season premiere, and this midseason finale will apparently kick things into high gear. Not only will Damien Darhk and Reverse-Flash appear in the upcoming episode, but they will also recruit The Dark Archer a.k.a Malcolm Merlyn, as well as Captain Cold a.k.a Leonard Snart -- much to the chagrin of Mick Rory. With all four members of the villainous team ready for action, the real mayhem will likely soon begin, and we'll get an idea of what their overall goal is.
The Legion's Team-Up With Al Capone
Although we will see a quartet of badass DC villains during the midseason finale of Legends of Tomorrow, don't expect the series to skimp on historical villains. The exact nature of the Legion of Doom's scheme seems fairly unclear at this point, but we know that "The Chicago Way" will see them team up with real-life gangster, Al Capone. How the Legion specifically benefits from a partnership with Capone remains a mystery, but the team-up will apparently create an apparition in which the mobster becomes mayor of Chicago after killing Elliot Ness. The Legends need to work fast, because I don't want to live in a timeline in which The Untouchables was never made. (Fingers crossed for a Geraldo joke.)
The Cliffhanger
Finally, and perhaps most enticingly, Marc Guggenheim recently revealed to EW that fans of the series will want to keep their eyes glued to the entire episode when it airs. Apparently the midseason finale of Legends of Tomorrow will end on a major cliffhanger, and it definitely sounds like it is going to defy any and all expectations. Guggenheim elaborated:
Legends of Tomorrow has been on a serious upward swing in terms of quality in recent weeks, and it sounds like this next episode will be something truly special. We will bring you more information related to Legends as new details become available to us; the series airs every Thursday night at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
