One of this television season's biggest hits has been NBC's This Is Us. If you've missed out on some, or all, of the popular family drama that's aired so far, you've now got a chance to catch up in a big way. You'll be able to see every episode that aired this fall in a marathon on USA.
NBC announced that its sister cable network USA would be airing all of this fall's 10 episodes of This Is Us on Saturday, January 7 starting at 1 p.m. ET/PT. The pilot episode will be shown simultaneously on the USA, Bravo and E! networks, and the rest of the episodes will then continue to air on USA that day until 11 p.m. NBC also notes that the marathon will be supported by all the show's official social media handles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so fans who take part in the binge watching can easily communicate with each other, and those behind the show, during the marathon.
It's likely that a lot of people will be tuning in for the This Is Us marathon on USA. The show has been one of the biggest success stories for the 2016-2017 TV season. The drama was even able to make waves months before it even began airing. When the trailer was released in the spring, it racked up a whopping 15 million views on Facebook in the first 48 hours of its release. And, then, in the first week of its release, it managed to more than triple the views to hit 51 million. Once the show finally aired in the fall, it became the number one new series of the season in the coveted 18-49 demographic. This Is Us averages 14.6 million viewers, and the December 6 fall finale episode set a new record for the series in Live+7 with a 4.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and 16.4 million viewers.
In case you're not up to speed on one of the biggest shows of the year, This Is Us follows married couple Jack and Rebecca as they raise their twins and adopted son, and also goes on to follow the children once they've grown up and gotten complicated lives of their own. The series was recently declared one of the top 10 shows of the year by the AFI Awards, and has also gotten a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama, while actors Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz were both nominated for Golden Globes for their work on the show, and actor Sterling K. Brown received a SAG Award nomination.
As you can see, This Is Us has enough popularity from TV audiences and critics alike to make a marathon a great idea. It's perfect for people who already love the show and are missing it during the hiatus, and also great for those who want to check it out for the first time. Something tells me that it's incredibly possible that This Is Us will come out of this marathon with even more fans than before.
