The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik Shares Pic As Wonder Woman, And Now It Needs To Happen

This weekend, Patty Jenkins' extremely well received superhero adventure Wonder Woman once again raked in a ton of money, as fans can't get enough of this more light-hearted sector of DC's cinematic universe. Speaking of light-hearted, the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory also knows a bit about DC Comics characters, having brought in countless references over the years -- such as Kaley Cuoco's take on the beloved hero. Now, star Mayim Bialik has shared an image of herself as Wonder Woman, proving Big Bang Theory needs to dip back into the costumed waters for more heroic fun.

Of course, the Instagram post seen above is a step removed from actually getting to see Mayim Bialik dressed to the nines as the Amazonian princess, but even a Photoshopped version does the trick. Her Big Bang character Amy is slightly more nuanced in personality and behavior than Gal Gadot's Diana Prince is in Wonder Woman. and Jim Parsons' Sheldon is just a tad different from Chris Pine's Steve Trevor, but we'd sit through that weird marriage of pop culture properties with popcorn to spare. (For what it's worth, though, Parsons is a beast at the gym.)

Speaking of marriages, I'm betting tons of Big Bang Theory fans would want Mayim Bialik's Wonder Woman to use her Lasso of Truth on Amy in the aftermath of Season 10's big finale, where Sheldon proposed to his longtime girlfriend. The episode ended before an answer could be given, and while we all assume it'll be a yes -- especially with Bialik herself talking about the potential wedding -- the show's creative team will likely throw a few sticks in the spokes to keep things from going too smoothly. Perhaps when Amy returns from her summer at Princeton, she'll have a pair of bracelets that she'll use to keep Sheldon in line and far away from old flames who still want to lock lips with him.

We've seen Amy do a bit of dressing up on the show, though not as much as everyone else. In the famed episode with Cuoco's Wonder Woman (which should keep us all from remembering Sheldon's take on the female hero), it's mentioned that Amy doesn't do costumes. So this image here may be the closest we get to the real thing.

It'll sadly be months before The Big Bang Theory puts any new episodes in front of audiences' peepers for Season 11, but you can definitely catch reruns airing on CBS and seemingly 45 other channels. But if you're needing some entertainment in the meantime, don't forget that Wonder Woman is still currently kicking ass at the box office, and that you'll soon be able to hear Big Bang Theory star Melissa Rauch take on the role of Harley Quinn for an upcoming DC animated feature. And you don't need to look much further than our summer premiere schedule to see what new and returning shows are hitting the small screen soon.
