Let the games begin! The 2008 Summer Olympics will kick off this weekend with the opening ceremony set to air Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Bob Costas and Matt Lauer will host the event, which will introduce athletes representing 205 countries. The Parade of Nations, which according to tradition will begin with Greece and end with athletes from the host country (China) will take place at the National Stadium in Beijing.
NBC posted the listings for the various events set to take place over the next couple of days. Theyre spread out over a number of channels and some are available streaming live on NBCOlympics.com.

Hi.
Will you guys provide video of the opening ceremony on your website? Also, I know you guys are provided Tons of online video coverage (and I Super appreciate that), but will ALL events for particulary gymnastics, diving, and swimming be online?
the reason i'm asking is because i dont have a dvr and i work all the time.
Thank you so much.
China over restriction to Beijing Olympic Games like blocking its worlwide video is an abomination to all people in the world. The United Nations must take actions regarding on this matter.
I'm dying to purchase a dvd of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony. Please tell me where to purchase it!!! The ceremony was the most amazing event I've ever seen!!!!
These were the most amazing opening ceremonies I've ever watched. I am so thankful for television. I really felt like I was actually there. The Chinese people can be very proud today.
I've submitted an inquiry at NBC. We'll post whatever information we receive as soon as we hear back. In the meantime, we've got information on the highlights video on NBC's website here and you can find more Olympic coverage, including schedules of the events here
hey love the olymics and i can not wait in till trak go tamysn leiwe i love trake ok good luck to alll the aussie going to the olympic ok who love the olympic
bye bye
I have been in the entertainment bussiness for 26yrs. I saw the blue prints for the 08 Olimpic games a few years ago. I had know Idea it was going to be as it was presented. I came in at 3am ( after a show I was on ) to to see some thing that I think would be a crime not to share with people who missed it because they were asleep. As some one that does shows for a living I was in aw. I do want to buy the opening ceramonies on DVD as well.
I loved the opening ceremonies and absolutely want to purchase many dvds for gifts, for local arts groups, and schools/universities to have in their archives!!! I see many powerful uses for THESE opening ceremonies to be put into a dvd!
(Perhaps some of the proceeds could benefit a necessary, immediate cause - like, the men's volleyball family who lost their father/father-in-law in that tragic, senseless murder a couple of days ago??? Just a thought...)
NBC, when releasing the WS DVD, PLEASE NO BLACK BARS! Make sure the image fills WS TV's full 16:9 ratio. It's done by some studio's with their movies so I know you can do it. Thanks.
According to nbc the video can be purchased from nbcolympics.com. Ihave been trying to purchase this video from this site with no luck. There is no place to highlight to purchase any of the featured videos from the tv commericials. Does anyone have the secret for contacting nbc in oder to correct this error?
