Rose Leslie is clarifying the nature of that spoiler her husband and former Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington told her. Specifically, how much she actually knows about how Game of Thrones ends. Talking spoilers, Leslie said:

I genuinely don’t know the ending [of the show]. He told me the ending of last season and I remember getting a bit uppity about that … He happened to tell me – and this is a spoiler for anybody who hasn’t seen the last season – he happened to tell me that one of the dragons fall into the ice lake, and then we see the dragon being dragged out of the water and the dragon breathes fire — or ice, I can’t quite remember which one it is, I think it’s fire — onto The Wall, and then, of course, that’s when all the [Army of the Dead] can then cross over. So he told me about the dragon and I got rather livid with him, because I said, ‘You weren’t supposed to tell me everything! And that’s a huge piece of information!’ And he’s like, ‘Well, you asked!’ And I was like, ‘I know.'

It turns out that the ending of Game of Thrones is known by one less person than previously thought. Rose Leslie has confirmed that she does not know how Game of Thrones ends to EW. What does she know? Only the sad fate of Daenerys’ dragon and The Wall.

That is a major spoiler for those not entirely caught up on Game of Thrones. Rose Leslie now knows the set-up for the series' eighth and final season, but she still does not know how that considerable cliffhanger will play out. Continuing, Leslie explained her determination to remain spoiler-free, as well as clarifying how that Season 7 spoiler slip came to be; saying:

To be fair I was probably rather ridiculous in the way I phrased it. I was like, ‘Tell me some things, but don’t tell me other things.’ But I actually don’t know the ending to [the show] because, believe it or not, it’s such a monumental phenomenal show, and I want to be like the rest of the world and watch it in real time and get that build up and anticipation. I want to finally come to the final episode and truly – and I honestly mean this – truly not know which way it goes.

Going into the final season without any knowledge as to how it ends is Rose Leslie’s game plan. Here's hoping she gets to have it realized, since it seems impossible to imagine being able to enjoy what Leslie points out feeling, anticipation-wise, while armed with spoilers.

Jon Snow ended up unwittingly hooking up with his aunt in Season 7, so, he may have actually liked having a few plot twists spoiled for him.

When this spoiler news initially broke many believed that Kit Harington had told his wife how the show ended. Something that led to her not talking to him for “three days.” Looking back at his quote, Harington said that he told Rose Leslie “last year how it ended.” In hindsight, it is apparent that he was talking about last year as in Game of Thrones' previous season.

He spoiled an ending, just not the Season 8 ending. As for how long she went without talking to Kit Harington for spoiling Season 7, Rose Leslie has a different recollection. She calls Harington’s words an “exaggeration,” but loved that he said “three days” because it seemed like he was just trying to get a cool soundbite out of it. So, how long did the silent treatment last? Leslie did not say.

Thankfully, the couple has managed to make it through the storm of spoilers. Rose Leslie, like countless Game of Thrones fans, will enter the final season without knowing how it ends. In the meantime, fans will have to make do with speculation as to who Jaime Lannister is smiling at in a new picture, and also what Daenerys’ last scene will entail, among other mysteries.

With so much unknown, at least some answers have already been provided. Find out how the dragon twist Kit Harington spoiled for Rose Leslie plays out when Game of Thrones' final season premieres Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. The series' eighth season is among many awaiting viewers in the midseason.
