Amanda Bynes Gets Canned

If you’re a fan of Amanda Bynes, you’ll be pleased to learn that the actress, who’s done a number of both big screen and small screen projects, has been cast in ABC’s new comedy pilot Canned. The pilot follows a group of friends who get fired in a corporate shake-up. Among the cast, including Bynes are Tim Peper, Stephanie Lemelin and Baron Vaughn.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bynes will play Sarabeth, a naïve Midwestern girl who used to spend the night at the office to get her work done.
Bynes’ earlier comedic work includes a role in the Nickelodeon comedy series All That as well as a hosting gig on The Amanda Show. Since then she’s starred in the sitcom What I Like About You, as well as a number of big screen roles including She’s The Man, What a Girl Wants, Hairspray and one of my personal favorites, Sydney White (an underrated modern re-imagining of Snow White).

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies.
