Christopher Lloyd Joins John Leguizamo In ABC Comedy Pilot Only Fools And Horses

Great Scott! Could Christopher Lloyd be returning to television? I suppose that depends on how things go for the ABC comedy pilot he’s been cast in. Those of us who are secretly (or openly) excited for the release of the gore-fest of a movie that is Piranha 3DD will get to see Lloyd return to his role as the fish expert Mr. Goodman in the sequel. Meanwhile, the Taxi star has been cast in the ABC’s multi-camera comedy Only Fools and Horses (based on a British series).

Deadline posted the news, stating that Lloyd is set to star opposite John Leguizamo and Dustin Ybarra in the project, which “chronicles the misadventures of two streetwise brothers, Del (Leguizamo) and Rodney (Ybarra), and their aging grandfather (Lloyd) as they concoct outrageous, morally questionable get-rich-quick schemes in their quest to become millionaires.”

The concept's a big vague, but sounds like it could be fun in a sort of Always Sunny kind of way (except probably watered down for network television, and with a studio audience), and Lloyd’s involvement certainly adds to the appeal.

On a related note, Deadline also reports that BJ Bales has also joined the cast of Only Fools and Horses, playing Trigger, “a ghetto-talking con man who is Del and Rodney’s perpetual enemy.” Bales has made appearances in True Blood, Happy Endings, and Accidentally on Purpose.
