Cybill Shepherd Joins Lifetime's The Client List

While Cybill Shepherd may have graced the small screen with her presence numerous times in recent years, she hasn’t been a series regular since the days of Cybill, which premiered in 1995 and wrapped up before the ’90’s drew to a close. That’s about to change though as the actor is set to star alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt in the upcoming Lifetime drama series The Client List.

The Client List is based on a Lifetime movie inspired by a true story that follows a housewife who finds herself running a massage parlor called The Rub, which as it turns out, doubles as a secret prostitution establishment, servicing wealthy businessmen. Jennifer Love Hewitt played the lead in the film and she’s set to reprise her role in the series, which is being produced by Sony TV. Now, according to Deadline, Cybill Shepherd has closed a deal to co-star in the drama, returning to her role as Hewitt’s character’s mother.

As Deadline notes, Shepherd has appeared in Psych, The L Word and Eastwick, but this role marks her first job as a series regular since Cybill.

Unfortunately, for those curious about the Lifetime movie, it doesn’t look like they have it on the schedule to re-air anytime soon, but you can watch the trailer for it here while we wait for video or photos from the upcoming TV series.
