Defiance Concept Art Shows Us Some Of The Sets From Syfy's New Series
Headed for Syfy next spring is Defiance, a new sci-fi series set to premiere along with a video game set in the same world. Created by Farscape's Rockne S. O'Bannon, Defiance is set on earth after a universal war, and follows the human and alien characters living together in Defiance, a town that was once the city of St. Louis. We got a look at the series from the recently released trailer, and now there's some concept art, which gives us a look at some of the sets for the drama.
Much of what we saw in the trailer focused on the action, with glimpses of machines, vehicles, guns and battle scenes. The teaser packed a lot into its 30 seconds. These photos, courtesy of the Defiance Facebook page, offer a peek at some of the sets, including the Lawkeeper's place:
This is presumably the place where Jeb Nolan (Grant Bowler) does his office work when he isn't out enforcing the law. Nolan is a former marine and they Chief Lawkeeper in Defiance.
And this one shows Kenya's boudoir. Kenya (Mia Kirshner) is the town madam. This interior room is at the "NeedWant" where she serves her clients.
It's amusing to note the drastic contrast between Nolan's drab place of business to Kenya's pink and purple "office." It sort of reminds me of Inara's shuttle on Firefly as it compared to the rest of Serenity.
