Dorian Missick Joins Southland For Season 4

When TNT ordered a 4th season of Southland last March, it seemed like we would have to wait ages to see it. That’s the trouble with midseason openers, they are great during the full season series hiatus in the spring, but arduous to wait for in the meantime. Luckily, the TNT drama has given us enough teaser tidbits concerning Season 4 in order to keep up fans’ anticipation levels. In August, it was announced Lucy Liu would join the cast as a member of the LAPD. Now, Southland has added another recurring character.

Dorian Missick is set to join the cast of Southland in Season 4. Like Liu, Missick will also be joining the LAPD. However, his role will pit him alongside Detective Lydia Adams (Regina King) as her brand new trainee partner, Reuben Robinson. According to TV Guide, rookie Robinson will totally be into Detective Adams and excited to learn from her.

While Dorian Missick is not a well-known name, he has been around detective shows before, guest starring most recently on Bones, but also on Law and Order, CSI:NY, and even NYPD Blue a few years back. He’s also done a few films in the past, including Two Weeks Notice and Lucky Number Slevin. His big break in TV was on the short-lived The Cape. Here’s to hoping the recurring role on Southland lasts a bit longer. However, since Detective Lydia Adams has been known to go through partners on the show, I’m not holding my breath.

Season 4 of TNT’s Southland premieres January 17 at 10 p.m. E.T.
