Dushku Signs On For TNT Pilot

Eliza Dushku is almost thirty, and she’s still yet to find a successful starring vehicle. Wonderful in her recurring turns on Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, big things were expected of her recent network serial Dollhouse, but sadly, it suffered the same fate as that show about the morgue she did with Zach Galifianakis. Now she’s back on the horse, but this time for basic cable.

According to Deadline, Dushku has officially signed on to topline a new TNT pilot entitled Bird Dog. The series comes from veteran TV movie director Mike Robe and centers around a police officer played by Dushku who’s followed to a small town by her father. He’s also a police officer, but the two share little else. Obviously, they’ll be partnered together to solve crimes and foster some semblance of the relationship they never had.

TNT’s really been pushing the crime dramas lately with Memphis Beat and Rizzoli and Isles. We’ll see whether this one follows them with a full season order.
