Eva Longoria Sells A Drama Script To The CW, And A Comedy Script To ABC

Desperate Housewives may be wrapping up, but Eva Longoria isn’t done with television. From the sound of it, she’s looking to do some work behind the scenes and has penned not one, but two scripts, which were purchased by two major networks.

According to Variety, Longoria has sold two scripts through her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, one to ABC and the other to the CW. ABC purchased Behind the Seams, which is described as a single-camera comedy that follow two Latina sisters, one of whom is a fashion designer and the other is a former model and party-girl, who team up to open an bridal boutique. Boston Legal’ s Ernie Bustamente is set to co-exec produce and write for the pilot.

Meanwhile, the CW purchased a scripted called Vega vs. Vega, which is a drama that follows a female attorney who is “forced to go into a practice with her mother, a pioneering female attorney with whom she has a love/hate relationship.”

Both projects sound interesting and decidedly female-focused, which is likely to appeal to a lot of the same people who tuned in to watch Longoria as Gaby on Desperate Housewives. We’ll have to wait and see what becomes of these projects and whether either of them ends up making it through to a series order.
