The Musketeers First Look Photo Shows Musketeers Looking Ready For Adventure
We still have to wait until next year to see The Musketeers on BBC America, but we now have our first look at the stars of the drama. As you might expect, there are four of them. The new photo released shows us Santiago Cabrera (Aramis), Tom Burke (Athos), Luke Pasqualino (D'Artagnan) and Howard Charles (Porthos). That's three Musketeers and a very determined looking D'Artagnan in the center.
We learned last year that BBC One and BBC America were co-producing The Musketeers, a series created by Adrian Hodges and inspired by Alexandre Dumas' classic story. Back in February, we learned that numerous characters had been cast. And now it appears production has begun on the drama, which will focus on the team of highly trained soldiers living and working in seventeenth century Paris.
The story will follow Athos, Aramis and Porthos, the personal bodyguards to King Louis XIII, as well as young D'Artagnan. The photo not only gives us a look at the stars of the series, but also their excellent costumes, which include some serious looking swords… and hats. This one pulls back a little bit so we can eye the full ensemble, including the boots and some additional weaponry on their belts…
The Musketeers is expected to air on BBC America in 2014, though no official premiere date has been set yet. In the meantime, we'll have to keep an eye out for new glimpses of the show as production resumes.
