Outlander Photo Shows Claire And Jamie Together, Ronald D. Moore Updates

Be still our hearts, it’s Jamie and Claire together in a new Outlander photo! Together! (Yes, we said that already.) In costume! Lots of plaid costume! I feel like I’ve been writing updates on Starz’s adaptation of Outlander every other day these days, but that’s mainly because we keep getting new tidbits about the series, and this one is certainly one of the more exciting ones, considering it shows us our first finished look at the two leads together, sharing what seems like — at the very least — a friendly moment by a rock wall. What’s Jamie showing Claire? Whatever it is, she seems to like it. And they both look amazing.
Outlander author Diana Gabaldon posted this image on her Facebook page, calling it a “nice end-of-year treat.” It certainly is a verra sweet treat for fans of the books who are anxiously awaiting this adaptation. The series has yet to receive an official release date, but Ronald D. Moore did recently offer fans an update on the production status, stating that they have four episodes in the can already:
As for the favorite scene they’ve shot so far…
For those who haven’t read the books, Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a British WWII combat nurse who finds herself whisked back through time while exploring a strange rock formation (Craigh na Dun) during a vacation trip to Scotland. Trapped in war torn Scotland in the 1700s, Claire is eventually forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a gallant warrior. Of course, there’s the complicated matter of Claire having a husband and a whole life waiting for her in the future, while she's busy being accused of being a spying Sassenach in the past (or technically present., now).
Starz continues to offer teases for this series, including set photos on Instagram. Here’s the latest shot, which shows off a bit of lighting…
Outlander is expected to air on Starz in 2014.
