Ralph Macchio To Guest Star On Happily Divorced

Ralph Macchio may forever be known for his iconic role as Daniel LaRusso in the original Karate Kid movies, but the actor has popped up from time to time in various roles over the last decade. Coming soon, he’s set to appear in an episode of Happily Divorced, playing a potential love interest to Fran Drescher’s character.

The Hollywood Reporter shared the news, stating that Macchio has signed on to guest star on the Drescher-starring TV Land comedy series Happily Divorced. His character is described as “ a nice guy from "the old neighborhood" who runs his father's old pizza joint.” His arrival could create a love triangle between him, Drescher’s character Fran, and her ex-boyfriend Elliot (D.W. Moffett)

From what the Reporter states, Macchio’s first appearance will take place late in the series’ second season, “with the potential to recur” in later episodes. It sounds like that could depend on whether the show is picked up for a third season.

Among Macchio’s recent TV credits is a role on Psych, and before that, a recurring role as the love interest to Hilda Suarez on Ugly Betty. His character Archie Rodriguez was sort of a nice guy from the old neighborhood too, so this part sounds like a good fit for him.
