Scandal Season 4 Promo Has Fitz Trying To Reach Olivia

Where on Earth is Olivia Pope? That is the question the new teaser for Season 4 of Scandal is asking. We all want to know where Olivia Pope is, but there's one man who's actually trying to find out. And he's being told that the number he's calling has been disconnected. Sorry, Fitz! Olivia Pope is no longer available! But how long will that last?

Hopefully not that long. After all, Scandal's nothing without Olivia and POTUS tension. And it's kind of hard to imagine Scandal functioning very long as a drama without its leading lady. But ABC sure is having fun reminding us that Olivia Pope is missing in action. When Season 3 wrapped up, Olivia was finally ready to walk away from all of the drama. She took her father up on his offer and accepted a new life. She was last seen on a plane with Jake, off to parts unknown. That left us to wonder how long she'd be gone, and -- assuming she does come back, because obviously -- what circumstances would bring her back to Washington, DC.

In addition to the above teaser, ABC also flew this banner over beaches of New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles...

Post by Scandal.

The banner comes complete with the hashtag TGIT, which presumably means Thank God/Goodness it's Thursday, a nod to Scandal's weekly appointment with the millions of people who tune in to watch each new episode. ABC has shifted Scandal to 9:00 p.m., where it's wedged between two other Shondaland productions. Grey's Anatomy airs at 8:00 p.m., before Scandal. And then after Scandal, there's the new drama How To Get Away With Murder.

While the "Where on Earth is Olivia Pope" campaign does a nice job of whetting our appetite for Scandal Season 4 -- and calling back the end of Season 3 -- hopefully we'll start to see some meatier promos for the series as the September 25 premiere date approaches. In the meantime, we already know that the first episode is titled "Randy, Red, Superfreak and Julia," and that Lost's Sonya Walger is on board to play a guest role. Also set to guest star in Season 4 is Portia de Rossi.
