Showtime Pairs Dave's Old Porn With Gigolos, Unscripted Series Premieres Later This Month
Showtime continues to explore the world of adult entertainment as the pay-cable series is set to find the funny in porn. Later this month Showtime will premiere Dave’s Old Porn, which is described as “in the vein of Mystery Science Theater" except the play-by-play commentary will be set around adult movies from the ’70’s and ’80’s.
Hosted by comedian Dave Attell (Insomniac with Dave Attell), Dave’s Old Porn will have Attell revisiting adult films from the “Golden Age” of the industry, including films like The Devil and Miss Jones, Ultra Flesh and Deep Rub. In addition to special guest stars from the porn industry (Ron Jeremy, Georgina Spelvin, Belladonna, and Seka were the mentioned names there), known comedians will also be there to offer their two cents on the matter. Among those set to be featured are Whitney Cummings (who’s everywhere lately), Chelsea Handler, Daniel Tosh, Adam Corolla, and Margaret Cho.
Dave’s Old Porn joins Gigolos among Showtime’s short but growing list of adult-oriented unscripted programming. While the commentary offered by the comedians is likely to be hilarious, those averse to graphic pornography may want to skip this one. As Showtime’s announcement states, “It’s an uncensored, unscripted celebration of the best cheesy dialogue and crazy plot points that made retro porn so great.”
Dave’s Old Porn premieres Thursday, October 20th at 11:30 PM ET/PT following the second season premiere of their other unscripted series Gigolos, which follows a group of male escorts.
