Spartacus War Of The Damned Series Finale Preview Teases The Final Battle

"I am Spartacus!"

Whether we're ready for it or not, the final battle is upon us. Come Friday, for better or worse, Spartacus will come to an end. A bitter end? Well, as the preview for "Victory" reminds us, it is a thing known that Spartacus cannot win this conflict. I suppose "win" - like "Victory" - is a relative term though. He may not survive it, but the man has left his mark and his name is fated to go down in history. He is Spartacus.

Following up on an episode that seemed custom-made to appeal to fans, rewarding us with one last look at some of the all star rebels in this fight as they return to the "arena." The arena match was more of an exhibition with a side of execution. The captured Romans, Tiberius included, were forced to fight and die in spectacular fashion for the entertainment of the rebels, and for us. And in the end, the episode played bigger tribute to the series by allowing the characters a moment to grieve and honor the fallen, Crixus among them.

If "The Dead and the Dying" was the calm before the storm, then "Victory" is most definitely that anticipated storm. The preview for the episode teases almost nothing but battles, and what looks like a pretty great "Freedom!!!" speech. Bring it on! There's also a quick snippet at the :42 mark that shows Crassus grabbing Kore by the throat. It looks like he turns from Caesar just before. Has he learned that she was the one to kill Tiberius? Because that would not be good for her. Even if she did tell him that he raped her, Crassus might not believe it, or he might still be angry enough to kill her. We'll have to wait to find out.

Spartacus: War of the Damned wraps up this Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET on Starz, after which Starz will premiere Da Vinci's Demons.
