Teri Hatcher Joins Jane By Design For Four-Episode Arc

With the finale of Desperate Housewives only weeks away, the stars have been looking for new work; and Teri Hatcher has picked up a recurring role on the ABC Family series Jane By Design. The role will be her first gig after saying goodbye to the Housewives set and the role she’s been playing on the show for eight seasons.

Hatcher will appear in four episodes of Jane By Design starting on June 18th, according to EW. That means we’ll go barely a month without Teri Hatcher on our screens; the Housewives finale airs on May 13th. Jane By Design will be starting up its second season on June 5th. Hatcher is on board to play the long-absent mother of title character Jane; whether mom’s reappearance is a good thing or not, we’ll have to wait and see. The series is about a teenager who goes from high school to the world of professional fashion. Hatcher is also stepping behind the cameras to direct an episode of the show.

All of the ladies of Wisteria Lane are officially out of a job, but it’s doubtful any of them will have trouble finding work. Eva Longoria hasn’t wasted any time; she is already producing a dating series for NBC to behosted by Giuliana and Bill Rancic. She’s also sold a couple of scripts to major networks. No doubt we’ll be hearing news of the other ladies’ new gigs soon enough. Meanwhile, there’s a few episodes left to say goodbye to the Housewives.
