USA's In Plain Sight To Wrap Up With Season 5

While one USA series moves forward, another one is wrapping up. It was good news for USA’s freshman series Suits, which is set to be brought back for a second season. The bad news is, In Plain Sight is coming to an end with an eight-episode season next year.

In Plain Sight stars Mary McCormack as U.S. Marshal Mary Shannon. Alongside her partner Marshall, played by Frederick Weller, Mary works for the witness protection program, protecting criminals and witnesses against the people looking to silence them for good. McCormack’s portrayal of the brave but guarded agent, added to the chemistry between Marshall and Mary, is one of the biggest draws of the series, which has been on the air since 2008.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Season 5 will premiere in 2012 and it will be the series last, despite averaging decent numbers (4.9 million viewers). There were apparently supposed to be two more seasons, however now USA is saying that Season 5 will be the last and that it will consist of just eight episode. Fans can expect to see Season 5 premier some time next spring.

While In Plain Sight’s final season falls a few episodes short of a typical USA season (or split-season), Suits was bulked up in episodes for it’s second season. The USA series, which premiered this summer, is set to return for a second season, getting a 16-episode order.
