Watch The Catfish Season 2 Trailer Before This Month's Premiere On MTV

MTV doesn’t always have the best track record with moving forward with programs after a first season. Recently, both The Inbetweeners and Buckwild were cancelled after just one season apiece. However, Catfish managed to survive into a second season at the network, and now, MTV has put out a 2-minute trailer for Season 2 of the reality series, which has been expanded to 16 episodes for its sophomore run.

Catfish: The TV Show follows Nev Schulman and filmmaker Max Joseph as they travel around the country, seeking to help couples who have online relationships to meet in real life. Sometimes both members of the couple are exactly who they say they are, but other times, hidden identities may be uncovered that may tear couples apart. In the Season 2 trailer for the drama, we see a woman who has never met her fiancé, Steven, and a man who has given thousands of dollars to a partner he has never met. Only time will tell if these are scams or the actions of true love--just at a distance.

When Catfish launched on MTV, it became the highest rated program the network has ever launched in the 11 p.m. timeslot. Additionally, when renewing the reality series, MTV cited increased DVR and streaming viewership as a reason to bring the show back for a second season. If you are a fan of the program, you won't have very long to wait for the series to return to MTV’s schedule. You can catch Season 2’s premiere on MTV beginning on June 25 at 10 p.m. ET.
