Watch Diddy Join The Downton Abbey Cast In Funny Or Die Sketch

Downton Diddy from Sean Combs

Funny Or Die’s newest sketch is “Downton Diddy,” a spoof of the popular program, Downton Abbey, which follows Sean Combs’ big cameo on the hit series and explains all of his show-related tweets in recent days. Humorously, the Funny or Die guys have just transplanted Diddy into scenes that actually aired as part of Downton Abbey, which means we get to see Diddy call the Dowager Countess “bitchy” and also get to see him interrupt plenty of big moments in the Downton universe. Some of the moments are weirder than they are funny, but if you like Diddy’s larger-than-life personality, the video is worth a watch.

Humorously, the rapper and producer notes at the beginning of the video that he put these clips together only after Downton Abbey producers claimed they had hired on the first black character on the show. He's out to prove he was the first black man in the Downton Abbey universe, and this response to Death in Paradise actor Gary Carr’s casting is probably the funniest thing about the video. However, "Downton Diddy" still doesn’t hold a candle to the spoof sketch, “Downton Sixbey,” that Late Night with Jimmy Fallon occasionally puts together.

The video mostly serves to remind me of my unwavering desire for more episodes of the hit U.K. series, which are woefully far away from hitting the airwaves in The States. Season 4 is expected to premiere in the U.K. next fall, but the series won’t return to the U.S. until January of 2014. So, thanks for that, Diddy.
